Gas Station To Offer Fuel At Under $3 Per Gallon

INDIANAPOLIS -- A relative bargain is expected to whip motorists into a frenzy Tuesday as a central Indiana gas station plans a promotion that will feature ethanol-enriched regular unleaded gas at under $3 a gallon.The Crystal Flash station in the 500 block of Rangeline Road in Carmel plans to run the promotion from 4 p.m until 5:30 p.m., 6News' Rick Hightower reported.The Indiana Corn Growers Association and Ethanol Promotion and Information Council are offering the promotion in conjunction with IndyCar. The gas that will be sold contains a 10 percent mix of ethanol, not the same as E85.
IndyCar drivers Ryan Hunter-Reay, Graham Rahal and Justin Wilson were expected to be at the event.Cars lined up for miles to get $2.97-a-gallon gas during a similar promotion recently.Regular unleaded was priced at $3.87 at the same Crystal Flash station on Tuesday morning. Prices at other central Indiana stations were running in the $3.75 to $3.85 range.
