The state is going after four people it claims failed to deliver tanning products sold to at least 12 people online.

A release Thursday from the Attorney General's Office said Trina S. Hasty, Wendy J. Hasty, Virginia L. Hoffman and Dane Laster, all of Indianapolis, offered tanning lotions, oils and other tanning-related products online using more than a dozen business names.

The businesses included Lotion Town, Tanning Products, Indoor Tanning Lotion, Best Indoor Tanning, Cheaper Lotions and Payless Lotions.

Attorney General Steve Carter said victims bought products between October 2007 and May 2008, and that additional purchasers are likely to come forward.

"Some customers paid more than $100 and received nothing in return," Carter said. "Those that tried to get their money back got caught in a web of confusing and misleading contact information."

The suit seeks to have money returned to those who didn't receive products, civil penalties of up to $5,500 per violation and reimbursement of investigative costs.
