INDIANAPOLIS -- A large career fair set for Lucas Oil Stadium Tuesday has commitments from dozens of employers and is expected to attract thousands of people looking for a job.

Mayor Greg Ballard will host the Indianapolis Employment Opportunities 2009 Career Fair.

More than 1,000 jobs are expected to be available from at least 60 businesses.

The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in exhibit halls 1 and 2. It's free and open to the public.

Officials said Monday morning that more than 475 people had pre-registered, though that isn't required, but is encouraged to streamline the process.

Companies such as Brightpoint, Comcast, Fifth Third, IndyGo and Simon Property Group have said they will attend, along with dozens of other employers.
