Celebrity Bankruptcy No. 1

Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson earned around $300 million during his career but filed for bankruptcy in 2003 due to more than $27 million in debts.

Tyson told the ladies on "The View" earlier this year, "I'm totally destitute and broke." When asked how it happened, he simply said, "I had a lot of fun. It just happened."

Part of that "fun," according to the New York Times, included $9 million in legal fees, $13.4 million owed to the IRS, $230,000 on pagers and cell phones, and $410,000 on a birthday party. He also owed $8,100 to care for his tigers and $65,000 for limos.

But despite the losses, Tyson also said on "The View" that he is happy because of his family and third wife, which should help remind everyone what really matters in life.

"I have an amazing life, I have an amazing woman who cares for me," Tyson said. "…I am very grateful. I do not deserve to have the wife I have, I do not deserve children I have, but I do, and I am very grateful."
