MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University Board of Trustees has approved a 2 percent tuition increase for each of the next two years.
The 20,000-student school says the increase approved Thursday is the lowest at Ball State in 37 years. Tuition for undergraduates will increase by $90 per semester next school year and $92 in 2014-15.
The Indiana Commission for Higher Education recommended no more than a 2 percent increase.
Indiana University Trustees approved a 1.75 percent tuition increase Wednesday, and Ivy Tech Community College trustees approved a more than 8 percent tuition increase Thursday. Purdue has frozen tuition on its main campus.
The Ball State Trustees also approved the 2013-14 budget including a 3 percent increase in salaries for faculty and a 2.5 percent increase for professional staff in its meeting.
