FISHERS, Ind. - A food company based in Fishers plans to close at the end of January, leaving nearly 100 people without a job.

Diamond Foods has filed a notice with the Department of Workforce Development that it plans to shutter its facility in Fishers by the end of January.

Diamond produces Kettle Brand Potato Chips, Pop Secret popcorn and Emerald nuts.

The Diamond facilities in Alabama and Indiana process nuts from Brazil, California, Oregon and the southeast U.S.

A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission provided more details of the closure, saying it was brought on by the company's decision to "eliminate less differentiated items in the Emerald product line."

The products in question had been produced in Fishers.
