You know it's almost the holiday season when Toys R Us releases its annual "Big Book," an 80-page advertising flyer reminiscent of the old Sears Wish Book from decades past.

While much smaller than the Sears book, it still has the power to attract kids, who tear through its pages as they put together their list for Santa.

It will be released in Sunday newspapers on Oct. 28, 2012, and will also be available in Toys R Us stores.

Deals and Coupons

The book features deals and coupons for many of the store's hottest products right now, from Barbie, to Thomas the Tank Engine and LEGO.

However, it is not a Black Friday book: These deals run from now through Nov. 21, and end before Black Friday.

Among the best deals, according to the deal website BFads.net:

         -A $10 Toys R Us gift card with most $75 purchases. This coupon alone makes the book valuable.

         -Power Wheels ride-on Jeep Wrangler for $239 (marked down from $299)

         -FAO Schwarz 150th Anniversary Barbie for $29 (marked down from $44)

         -$40 discount on LEGO Ninjago Epic Dragon Battle (marked down from $129)

         -Free Thomas Wooden Drawbridge with a $100 Thomas Wooden Railway purchase

        -25 percent off select board games

The book's cover also mentions something new this year: Price matching; if you bring in a competitors ad. Target and Best Buy are also price matching this year, making it a very competitive holiday season.
