INDIANAPOLIS - Gas prices are dropping in Indiana and are now well below the national average.
AAA's survey of nationwide gas prices showed Indiana's price for regular unleaded at $3.46 a gallon, 9 cents below the national average of $3.55.

Prices have plunged well below the average mark at some stations on Indianapolis' southwest side and in the Plainfield area, checking in around $3.15 a gallon.
Analysts said that if there are no major hurricanes for the rest of the season that threaten refinery production, prices will stay about the same or fall some more.
Indiana gas prices have had wide swings in recent months. Earlier this year, prices in Indiana were among the highest in the country.
Oil prices jumped significantly last week because Chinese economic data suggested the demand for crude oil might increase. Oil hovered at about $106 a barrel Monday morning.
