Pacers O'Neal Will Not Opt Out

Indianapolis, IN -- (Sports Network) - Indiana Pacers forward Jermaine O'Neal has reportedly decided to remain with the Pacers, with whom he has two years and $44 million remaining on his contract.According to a report on the Indianapolis Star on Thursday, O'Neal's representatives recently informed the Pacers of his intentions. The six-time All-Star had until June 30 to make a decision. O'Neal has been battling injuries in recent seasons and played in only 42 games in 2007-2008, averaging 13.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Over 12 seasons in the NBA, which included his first four seasons in Portland, the 30-year old has played in 725 games and has averaged 14.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
