Woman Involved In Frantic 911 Call Found Safe

GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- Police said Sunday that a woman who made a frantic 911 call Friday from a payphone in an eastern Putnam County community has been located, and is safe.Putnam County Sheriff Mark Frisbie told 6News that the woman was involved in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend. The boyfriend was jailed on unrelated charges in another county.A friend or family member convinced the woman to come forward after seeing her story on the news.
Authorities had launched a search after the call was received from the Heritage Lake community clubhouse several miles east of Greencastle.Sounding out of breath, the woman indicated that someone -- identifying him only as "he" -- was in her car and about to run her over.Further information was not immediately available, but Frisbie expected to release the woman's name and additional details on Monday.
