MARTINSVILLE, Ind. -- Five Martinsville firefighters will undergo lie-detector tests as their department tries to determine who ordered pay-per-view pornography at a firehouse in May, 6News' Jeremy Brilliant reported Wednesday.

Fire Chief Tim Fraker said 17 movies -- most of them pornographic -- were ordered from a cable service and watched during regular shifts in late May. The movies cost a total of $277.

"We turned around and asked whoever had done it (to) come forward and pay for the movies. We'd handle it internally and be done with it," Fraker said.

But no one admitted to ordering the porn, so the department is investigating, and the probe became public knowledge in Martinsville, Brilliant reported.

Fraker said the department's cable bill is covered by proceeds from a pop machine in the firehouse, so no taxpayer dollars were spent on the movies.

Still, Fraker said, watching porn in the firehouse is wrong.

"The individuals or individual was on city time. He's getting paid by city tax dollars. Watching a city-owned TV, it's still inappropriate," he said.

Fraker said the person responsible will be expected to pay restitution, face some sort of punishment and then continue working with the department.
