Ninth-Grader Arrested, Accused Of Having Gun In School

INDIANAPOLIS -- A Wayne Township ninth-grader was arrested Thursday on suspicion of having a unloaded gun and one bullet in school, officials said.

The student showed the weapon to schoolmates at the Ben Davis Ninth Grade Center, and the peers told adults there, a school spokeswoman said.

School officials found the gun in a pocket of the jeans he was wearing and a bullet in another pocket, the spokeswoman said.

No one was threatened, according to the spokeswoman.

The student could be expelled over the incident, the school said.
