May 8-10-Central Indiana Dance Ensemble Circle of Dance Festival: The Central Indiana Dance Ensemble will host the Regional Dance America Circle of Dance Festival May 8 – 10, 2008 at the Sheraton at Keystone at the Crossing. Approximately 350 pre-professional dancers from 10 Midwestern states will participate in 3 days of intensive dance training, lectures, seminars and social events. Professionally adjudicated evening performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will showcase the best work of each Member Company as well as emerging choreographers. The shows will take place at the Pike Performing Arts Center. Scholarships for continuing dance education will also be awarded to outstanding dancers during the festival. May 9-Camp CareFree Benefit Concert: This is a family night of music to raise money for a children's cancer camp. The camp is for any child in the state of IND. that has had or has cancer. It is a nonprofit organization and 100% of the money raised that night will go to the camp.

May 9-24-The Waverly Gallery: StageWorthy Productions announces its second production of the 2007-2008 season, Kenneth Lonergan’s “The Waverly Gallery”. Performances will be at 2950 E. 55th Place on May 9, 10, 16, 23, & 24, 2008 at 8pm. All seats are $10. A Pulitzer Prize finalist, the play focuses on the final years of a generous, chatty and feisty grandmother’s final battle against Alzheimer’s disease. The play explores her fight to retain her independence and the subsequent decline on her family, especially her grandson. More than a memory play, “The Waverly Gallery” captures the humor and strength of a family in the face of crisis.

May 10-Schools for Schools Walk-a-Thon: The Perry Meridian High School chapter of Schools for Schools is hosting a Walk-a-Thon to raise money for Layibi Secondary School in Uganda. May 10-Mahalia: A Tribute to Gospel Great Mahalia Jackson: "Mahalia," a gospel musical by Indianapolis playwright Connie Oates, comes to the Walker Theatre Saturday, May 10 at 6 p.m. bringing the colorful gospel singer to life in what has been called a "joyous celebration of her music." May 13-Golf Outing to Benefit Kids with Arthritis: Indianapolis – The Arthritis Foundation, Indiana Chapter will host its annual golf outing Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at The Fort Golf Course. May 17-2008 Indiana Blue Star Salute: The American Legion is planning one of the largest Armed Forces Day celebrations in the country this year. On May 17th, currently active military servicepersons and their families from all over Indiana, along with the general public, are invited to attend the event at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis. Admission and parking is FREE! With gates open at 1 p.m., a brief opening ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. with the arrival of more than 1,000 motorcyclists completing the ‘Ride for the Salute’, a tour through Hendricks County which raises donations for The American Legacy Scholarship Fund. The main ceremony will be at 5 p.m., during which comments from dignitaries and various entertainments will be offered in appreciation of Indiana’s military families. May 18-Hip-Hop vs. America Fashion Show: Versatile Entertainment presents the first annual HIP-HOP VS. AMERICA Fashion Show.
