February 27-Free Interview Skills Workshop: The Indianapolis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is hosting an Interview Skills Workshop for young women of color, who attend any area high school. The workshop is designed to prepare participants for scholarship, internship and employment opportunities. February 9-Healthy Indiana Plan Outreach Event: Healthy Indiana Plan Enrollment Coordinator’s from Clarian HIP Enrollment Center will be hosting a HIP Open Enrollment Event in the HealthNet Southwest Health Center on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. HIP is a state-sponsored health insurance program for uninsured Hoosier adults who meet certain income requirements and are ages 19 to 64. Come out to the HIP Enrollment Event to learn more and take advantage of the opportunity to speak with HIP Enrollment Coordinators, receive application assistance, and enjoy refreshments. February 9-Legal Line: A Program of the Indianapolis Bar Association: Anyone can be caught in a situation where they are unsure of their legal rights. It can be very frightening, but help is available by calling Legal Line, a free service sponsored by the Indianapolis Bar Association, on Tuesday, February 9. Attorney volunteers who are members of the Indianapolis Bar Association will be answering calls to help the public from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on February 9. It’s quick and easy! By calling (317) 269-2000 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month (except December), anyone can speak with a qualified attorney who will help answer basic questions and give advice on legal issues. This is a free community service. Callers with more complex legal issues are encouraged to seek representation through the IBA’s Lawyer Referral Service at (317) 269-2222, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

February 9-Second Annual Woman Talk: Life Lessons, For Women By Women: Woman Talk is a series designed to inform and inspire women in important areas of their lives. Carmel High School’s Alice in Wonderland will include all the favorite characters: White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, The Queen of Hearts, Tweedledum and Tweedledee. February 12 & 22-Free Heart Screenings: The St. Francis Heart Center will provide free heart screenings to Greenwood Park Mall visitors as part of its participation in observance of February’s American Heart Month. The screenings will be 8 a.m. to noon, Feb. 12 and 22 at the St. Francis-sponsored “Rejuvenation Station,” located near the main entrance of Sears. February 13-The Black Affair: The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) IUPUI Chapter invites you to celebrate Black History Month and Engineering Week at The Black Affair. March 4-6-Indiana Heritage Quilt Show: Now in its 19th year, the Indiana Heritage Quilt Show (IHQS) continues to offer a unique experience for both quilting enthusiasts and anyone who simply appreciates the artistic nature of quilting. March 5-The Spirit Place Festival Application Deadline: The Spirit Place Festival is currently accepting applications from community groups to host events during the 2010 festival. Interested cultural, faith-based, educational and community organizations have the chance to join more than 100 of the city’s top organizations in a valuable partnership with Spirit Place to help create engaging civil dialogue. May 1-College of Science Summer Institute Camp: The College of Science Summer Institute, a summer science camp held in June at Purdue University, is open for registration. Now through April 13-DivorceCare: Beginning Tuesday, January 12, from 7:00-8:30 p.m., Carmel Lutheran Church (4850 E. 131st St.,) will offer both DivorceCare and DC4K (Divorce Care for Kids), nationally recognized programs of recovery for individuals and their children (ages 5 through 12) who have experienced or are currently going through a divorce. This 13-week Christian-based recovery group offers education and support for individuals who are seeking a biblically-based approach to begin the healing process from divorce.

Now through May 23-Bob the BuilderTM - Project: Build It: Can We Build It? ™ Yes We Can! Step into the lively and colorful world of Bob the Builder at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, where he and his Can-Do Crew work as a team to get the job done! Learn the three R's - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle - as you build a new environmentally friendly community with Bob the Builder, Wendy and the rest of the crew. Join Scoop, Muck, Lofty, Roley, Dizzy, Benny, and Scrambler and build a house, plant a flower garden and more!
