Indianapolis Metropolitan police have made an arrest in connection with one of a string of homicides in the city last summer.

Isaiah Alvies, 17, was arrested in connection with a burglary at a home on the city's southwest side on Thursday.

Investigators learned that Alvies was also wanted for questioning in connection with the killing of Debra Buchanan, whose body was found Aug. 3, 2006, in a wooded area just east of 3200 North Richardt Avenue.

After he was questioned, Alvies was held on charges of murder, burglary, criminal confinement and rape.

Buchanan was one of 14 people slain in Indianapolis in a seven-day period over the summer.
