State law prohibits law enforcement officers from holding a financial interest in an establishment that serves alcohol. Indiana Code 35-41-1-17 says a prosecuting attorney is a law enforcement officer.State excise police said this week that it appeared to them that Brizzi's 10 percent stake in Harry & Izzy's was in conflict with the law.Though Brizzi said he has sold his stock, he said he still is waiting to hear from the state attorney general to comment on the issue. Brizzi had asked Attorney General Steve Carter to issue an advisory opinion defining the role of stockholder, 6News' Jack Rinehart reported.
