Identities Of 2 Drywall Workers Found Dead In Building Released

POSTED: 6:22 pm EST March 2, 2007

A man who hired two people to do drywall work in a vacant office building found them dead there Friday afternoon, Westfield police said.

The bodies of the workers, identified as Roderick Macdonald, 38, of Noblesville, and Dennis Franklin, 56, of Sheridan, were found in the basement of the building, located at 230 E. Main, police said.

Police said the bodies had no signs of trauma, and they did not suspect foul play. Autopsies will be performed.

People who work in nearby businesses told 6News that the two had been staying overnight in the building, and that the two had said the building wasn't heated.

"I said, 'What are you heating with?' And they said, 'Kerosene heater,'" said Mike Gibson, who works at Firehouse Pizza.
