New railroad crossing warning signs went up in Johnson County Tuesday, a little more than a month after two boys were killed in a train-SUV crash.

Warning signs went up on Stones Crossing Road, where Travis and Jake Findley died Feb. 3. Almost 30 signs were to be placed at other crossings in Johnson County, at a cost of about $8,000, 6News' Ben Morriston reported.

The new signs are just a piece of the safety puzzle. Johnson County officials are seeking funding for other safety measures.

Johnson County councilman John Price said officials were trying to determine how to pay for the improvements.

A public fundraising effort is under way to raise $1 million in four months in hopes of getting crossing arms installed at the Stones Creek crossing and at least three others in Johnson County.
