Indy Police Investigate Boy's Death

Authorities: Wrist Marks Consistent With Being Restrained

UPDATED: 8:54 pm EDT March 30, 2007

Police said they were investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy whose wrists bore marks that doctors asserted were consistent with being restrained.

The boy's mother told investigators that she awoke in her motel room at 2301 N. Post Road and found the boy unresponsive. She took the boy to Community East Hospital, where doctors said he was dead on arrival, according to police.

The mother told investigators that the markings on the boy's wrists happened when his 5-year-old brother tied him with a shoelace, police said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.
