INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Metro police will review an incident in which a school police officer used a Taser gun to subdue a Wayne Township special needs student Tuesday.A school spokesman told 6News that the student, who is 16 years old, did not respond to repeated attempts to bring his behavior under control at the Sanders School.Authorities said the Taser gun was deployed by an off-duty IMPD officer who was working school security.
The Sanders School handles special needs students from 10 area school districts.The student was treated and released.
