John And Patsy Break The Silence
Book Will Reveal How Faith In God Helped Them Through JonBenet's Murder
The book, set to be released in March, is intended to answer "myths and falsehoods" about the murder investigation, according to a press release. The book is being published by Thomas Nelson, a Christian publishing group that calls itself the "largest publisher of bibles and inspirational books in the English language."
John and Patsy Ramsey say it's time to break the silence and tell how their faith in God sustained them through the tragedy of losing their beauty princess daughter and how they coped with the suspicions that they had killed her. ( Press Release )
They haven't exactly written the book yet, but publishers insist that the couple is writing it themselves, "with some assistance."
"We have patiently waited for the justice process to evolve in the matter of our daughter's death," the Ramseys said in a news release Friday. "We have remained silent while baseless and slanderous accusations about our family were made by the frenzied media.
"With the grand jury's recent decision (not to indict anyone), the time is appropriate to recount our experiences in this tragedy."
The terms of the book deal have not been disclosed. But the Ramseys say they will use royalties for legal fees. Profit above and beyond will go to the JonBenet Ramsey Children's Foundation, an organization established to "help children in their spiritual growth."
