BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- With the slash of a ribbon, Marsh company officials Thursday launched a $2 million store remodeling program in Bloomington.Marsh executives said it is the first major Indiana market to receive significant store improvements and capital investment. Some stores will be known as the Marsh Hometown Market.
“They tend to be smaller stores, easier to shop but still offering the quality perishable products Marsh is known to deliver,” Marsh President and CEO Frank Lazaran told 6News’ Ben Morriston. For those who think bigger is better, the company offers the larger Marsh Marketplace, featuring a full line meat and seafood department.“Both formats will offer significant improvements to the facilities, added emphasis on fresh produce, meat and seafood to provide the level of customer service our customers have come to expect from us,” said Lazaran.Janice Deweese, an occasional Marsh shopper, described her experience at the Marsh Hometown Market as nice.“It’s clean, and the employees are very friendly. I’ll probably do a lot more shopping here,” Deweese told Morriston.Marsh plans to have 75 percent of its stores renamed by the end of the year.
