INDIANAPOLIS -- Animal control officers confiscated six dogs from an east-side Indianapolis house Thursday, saying they're trying to determine whether dog-fighting occurred there, 6News' Jack Rinehart reported.Jeffrey Neer, 47, was arrested on a drug charge after investigators found marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia during a search of the home, authorities said.Officers went to the house in the 7400 block of East 33rd Street after a neighbor reported seeing two dogs fight each other in the back yard, the city's animal control division said. One dog was biting the other's neck, and the neighbor threw rocks at them to break them up before calling police, officials said."Once the officers arrived, there was evidence that dog-fighting was occurring with these dogs," said Earl Morgan, the city's public safety director.Animal control officers and city police searched the home and items that they believed could be dog-fighting-related items, including treadmills, authorities said. The FBI also was investigating whether dog-fighting occurred, Rinehart reported.
