INDIANAPOLIS -- One man was killed and another man was injured in a shooting in or near a house on the city's west side late Thursday afternoon, police and witnesses said.A gunman or gunmen fatally shot Arnold Fitzgerald (pictured), 31, and shot Terrance Williams in one of his hands at about 4:45 p.m. in or near 3321 W. 10th St., according to police and witnesses.Fitzgerald was pronounced dead at the scene; someone took Williams, 27, to a hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
Police said several people were in the home when the shooting happened.A witness told 6News that three people exited a black SUV and shot Fitzgerald at close range outside the house. Fitzgerald ran into the back yard and collapsed before dying, the witness told 6News' Cheryl Jackson, speaking on condition of anonymity. The witness didn't say how Williams was shot. However, police said they believe the shooter or shooters entered the house and shot Fitzgerald and Williams there. Fitzgerald's body was found, police said, lying just inside a doorway in the back of the house.According to the witness, the shooters re-entered the vehicle, and a fourth person inside the car drove them away.No arrests have been. Police said gambling might have spurred an argument that led to the shootings.
