Prosecutors: Cell Phone Video Shows Rapes

4 Arrested, Charged After Attacks On 2 Women

POSTED: 6:42 pm EST November 29, 2007

Video recorded by a cell phone shows the rapes of two women by four men who have been charged in the case, prosecutors said Thursday.

A witness recorded the attacks in a home on the city's west side on Sept. 27, and the video later was given to police, authorities said.

Authorities said up to six men might have attacked the girls. Prosecutors have filed charges against four, saying the defendants can be clearly identified and heard on the video.

Edris Griffin, 25, Kenneth Ingram, 23, Jason Pedro, 18, and Dominique Ingram, 22, were arrested and charged with rape. Dominique Ingram also was charged with criminal confinement, 6News' Derrik Thomas reported.

"There have been other cases where there has been video recordings of incidents, but none to the extent as this one," said David Wyser, Marion County's chief trial deputy prosecutor. "This is very clear. The defendants are all seen on the video committing these acts, so it is very fortuitous that we have this video."

The women, an 18-year-old and her 19-year-old friend, had lived at the home for a few months. The 18-year-old told 6News that she felt her attackers were "like dirt."

"I feel like they just don't care about anybody but themselves," she said.

Griffin made an initial court appearance in the case Thursday. Afterward, he told 6News that he wasn't involved in the attacks.

Griffin was being held with bond set at $100,000. His jury trial is set for Jan. 28.
