Baby Sitter Accused Of Molesting Boys

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. -- A 26-year-old man was arrested this week on suspicion of molesting two Miami County boys he had been baby-sitting, authorities said.

The boys, ages 5 and 6, told detectives that Joshua Upton (pictured) performed sex acts on them 10 times in the last six months, the Miami County Sheriff's Department said.

The allegations came after their mother told police Tuesday night that she found child pornography titles on the computer in her home, where Upton had watched the children, police said.

Upton was arrested at his mobile home near Kokomo on 10 counts of child molestation, police told 6News' Renee Jameson.

"It's very disturbing," Miami County Sheriff Ken Roland said. "We're always trying to protect the children, and we try to tell the parents just to be aware and know who their baby sitters are -- try to know everything you can about the individuals."

A task force involving the sheriff's department, state police, child welfare workers and the Miami County prosecutor's office is trying to determine whether Upton victimized other children. Investigators looked for evidence at his mobile home Wednesday night, police said.

"We're concerned that there are other victims, based on the investigation at this point," Miami County Prosecutor Eric Huneryager said. "Mr. Upton is known as Big Josh, and I think that a lot of people in the area may know him by his nickname rather than his real name."

Police said anyone with information that might relate to the case should call the Miami County Sheriff's Department.
