Turner faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison on the battery charge, but he faces the death penalty in the murder case.

Turner and James Stewart, the other man charged in the slayings, are also scheduled to have a pre-trial conference Thursday in the Hamilton Avenue killings, which happened in June 2006.

The murder trial is expected to begin in February 2009.

Three children and four adults were killed in a home at 560 Hamilton Ave.
