Police Baffled By Disappearance Of Greenwood Woman

Louks Hasn't Been Seen Since Reporting Computer Theft

Police are looking for a 19-year-old Greenwood woman who's been missing for one week.

The family of Brookely Louks (pictured, left) is upset because they say Louks always checked in regularly and she had little money and no credit cards. Louks' mother also said that her daughter appeared to leave behind all her clothes and a kitten.

Sgt. Don Harris of the Greenwood Police Department saw Louks June 24 when she made a police report after discovering that a computer was missing from her father's apartment.

Investigators don't know if there's a connection between her disappearance and the apparent burglary.

A neighbor said that Louks got into a car with a man and left shortly after she talked to police.

A Johnson County sheriff's deputy found Louks' car about 10 miles from Louks' home Sunday morning, authorities said. The car was in a parking lot near the intersection of state roads 37 and 144, authorities said.

Police searched the car for fingerprints Monday.
