CARMEL, Ind. -- Authorities on Tuesday said they expect to announce an arrest soon in connection with a woman's claim that someone raped her during a party at the home of Indiana Pacers player Marquis Daniels.Daniels is not a suspect in the incident, which a 22-year-old woman said happened early Sunday, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department said."There was a gathering at Marquis Daniels' home in Carmel. At some point during the party, the victim felt that she was violated," Hamilton County sheriff's Deputy Vicky Dunbar said Tuesday.
The sheriff's department said it has contacted a person who may have been involved and expected to announce an arrest soon.The woman, of Ohio, went to Indianapolis' Methodist Hospital and told Indianapolis police on that she had been raped, authorities said. Indianapolis police turned the case over to the HCSD.The woman told 6News she couldn't comment on the investigation. Attempts by 6News to reach Daniels for comment were unsuccessful.The Pacers declined to comment about the investigation.
