Police are carefully studying a letter that claims a missing man found in a pond two years after his disappearance was slain.

Last week, police found the remains of Brad Hensley inside his Jeep in a neighborhood pond, just blocks from his home.

Hensley was last seen alive in January 2006. This week, investigators received an anonymous letter claiming Hensley was killed.

Officials declined to elaborate on the contents of the handwritten letter, but said it was in a plain envelope addressed to the chief of the Plainfield Police Department, and was postmarked March 21 in Indianapolis.

Plainfield police said that all signs point toward an accidental death, but officers said they want to speak with the writer of the letter.

Police asked anyone with information to call them at 317-838-3563.
