A man died after a stun gun was used to subdue him following a dispute at a restaurant on Indianapolis' northwest side Friday night.

Indianapolis Metro police were called to an O'Charley's restaurant in the 5100 block of West 38th Street at about 10:30 p.m. following a report of a disturbance involving a man with a gun.

When police arrived, they confronted a Henry Bryant (pictured), 35, who they said was possibly involved in the incident.

Officers said Bryant became violent with the officers before the stun gun was used.

According to IMPD, officers noticed Bryant was having difficulty breathing and called for a medic.

As they waited for emergency crews to arrive, officers administered CPR, according to officials.

Bryant was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he died a short time later.

"Right now, our homicide detectives are investigating this incident as a death investigation," said IMPD Sgt. Paul Thompson. "Since we don't know for sure what actually caused this man's death, we're also waiting for a report from the coroner's office regarding anything that they might find."

Police said one officer suffered minor injuries during the incident.
