A former officer at the Indianapolis Juvenile Correctional Facility has been ordered to serve six months in a community corrections program for engaging in sexual misconduct with a female inmate.

Octavious Tyler was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to two felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Tyler, then 25, was fired in September 2006 after an inmate told staff members that a teenage girl there said Tyler had engaged in sexual conduct with her, authorities said.
