Truck Full Of Marijuana Found Abandoned

A chase involving police resulted in a large marijuana bust on Indianapolis' east side.

An off-duty Lawrence Township deputy constable spotted a Chevrolet Silverado on Pendleton Pike without any lights on Wednesday night.

The constable, along with Indianapolis Metro and Indiana State Police, chased the truck to a home in the 3600 block of Black Locust Drive.

Police said they found 1,100 pounds of marijuana in the bed and passenger compartment of the truck, which had been abandoned.

According to police, the marijuana has a street value of more than $1 million.
