3rd Person Dies As Result Of Mother's Day Fire

POSTED: 7:19 pm EDT May 13, 2008

A woman died Tuesday of injuries she suffered in a Sunday fire that also killed her two daughters and critically injured her 2-year-old son.

Natasha Drake, 35, died Tuesday afternoon at Wishard Memorial Hospital, the hospital said.

Drake and five other people were in a home in the 3600 block of Hillside Avenue when a fire started there before 5 a.m. Sunday, authorities said.

Drake's daughters, LeNesha Drake, 7, and Camary Drake, 10, died as a result of the fire. She and her son, Elijah, were sent to hospitals in critical condition, and two other people -- the children's grandmother and the grandmother's boyfriend -- escaped unharmed.

Information on Elijah's condition wasn't available Tuesday.

Investigators have said the fire was an accident.

Anyone who wants to help the family can contact Indiana Missionary Baptist Church at 317-542-9577 or the People's Burn Foundation at 317-803-2876.
