Authorities at a news conference Tuesday evening said people searching Salt Creek near Bloomington found something of "possible excellent evidentiary value," but they declined to elaborate.

The discovery is in addition to recent findings of other items that have been deemed evidence or possible evidence that the Indiana University student's body was placed in the creek.

Authorities are combing a mile-long portion of Salt Creek that is being drained for the investigation. Two dams were built in the creek last week to begin the draining process.

Behrman (pictured, above left) disappeared at age 19 while on a bike ride on May 31, 2000. Investigators believe Behrman's body was dumped in the creek after she was hit by a car while biking along a nearby road.

Behrman's father, Eric Behrman, visited the search site Tuesday. He told reporters that he's confident his daughter's body will be found soon.
