2 Killed In Separate Indianapolis Shootings
Police Seek Shooters In Both Cases

INDIANAPOLIS -- Two people were killed in separate shootings late Monday night and early Tuesday morning.The first happened at about 11 p.m. in the parking lot of Mr. Gyros, a Greek restaurant at 38th Street and Moller Road.Police said a woman was being robbed at gunpoint when a friend of hers stepped in to help."A 72-year-old Hispanic male who was an acquaintance of the victim saw what was happening and tried to come to her aid," said Indianapolis Metro police Sgt. Matt Mount. "He had a weapon. He pulled it out and ended up getting shot several times."The victim was identified as Mario Gonzalez-Tello. The robbery victim, a 54-year-old woman, was not injured.An unrelated shooting at about 3:35 a.m. Tuesday on Indianapolis' south side left a woman dead.Police said shots were fired into a home in the 1700 block of Laurel Street, striking Tiffany Tewell, 25, and her boyfriend, David Collett, 32.Both victims were taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where Tewell was pronounced dead a short time later. Collett was listed in serious but stable condition Tuesday morning.Police said they have no suspects in that shooting.Police asked anyone with information in either case to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
