One person was killed Thursday afternoon in a three-vehicle wreck in Hamilton County.

The collision happened at about 12:20 p.m. at 146th Street and Gray Road.

Police said Arlene R. Grande, 56, slowed suddenly while trying to turn into a driveway. Another driver – Steven D. Hood, 45 – swerved to avoid hitting Grande's vehicle, but Grande turned back the other way and struck Hood's SUV. The impact sent Hood's vehicle into oncoming traffic, striking a car driven by 53-year-old George D. Rossman.

Rossman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Grande and Hood were both taken to Riverview Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash shut down a portion of 146th Street for three hours.

The incident is being investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. No charges had been filed Thursday afternoon.
