Two people were killed early Saturday morning in a wreck involving a wrong-way driver on Interstate 65 in Boone County.

Police received calls about a car going south in the northbound lanes near Lebanon at about 4 a.m.

Investigators said the collision happened near the Indiana 39 exit moments after the calls began coming in.

Police said Mark Cabbell, 29, of Indianapolis, was the wrong-way driver.

Cabbell's vehicle struck another, driven by Samantha Burke, 22, of Lafayette.

Investigators said they aren't sure why Cabbell was driving on the wrong side of the interstate.
