INDIANAPOLIS -- Mayor Greg Ballard is recovering at home after being taken to the hospital with knee pain Friday, officials said.Ballard spokesman Marcus Barlow said the mayor woke up with pain in his right knee Friday and was taken to a hospital by his security detail.Ballard was unable to walk due to the pain, which has been a reoccurring problem, Barlow said.An MRI determined there were no tears to the knee tissue, just swelling and a slight fluid buildup, Barlow said. The fluid was drained and Ballard is now recovering at home.Ballard plans to rest Friday and Saturday, Barlow said, but hopes to be well enough to attend the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on Sunday.Barlow said he did not believe Ballard had ever had surgery on his knee.
