Police Investigate Man's Death

BLOOMFIELD, Ind. -- Police are trying to determine what led to the death of a man whose body was found just outside of his Greene County home Thursday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Everett M. Smith, 58, of Bloomfield.

The Greene County Sheriff's Department called Indiana State Police to Smith's home near Indiana 54 and County Road 950 to help with the investigation.

Smith was taken to Bloomington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said they think Smith was shot outside of his home, but they did not release further information.
