Nestle To Expand Anderson Plant, Add Jobs

About 135 Jobs Expected With Beverage Production, Distribution Expansion

Its Anderson plant hasn't even opened yet, but Nestle USA said Tuesday the facility would undergo an 880,000-square-foot expansion, adding about 135 more jobs.

Nestle officials said the company would spend $200 million to expand its Anderson plant's beverage production and distribution operations.

Gov. Mitch Daniels was at Tuesday's announcement.

"Nestle is making an even bigger commitment to Anderson and to Indiana," Daniels was quoted in a news release. "The company had a resounding response from Hoosiers who want to work at the new Anderson plant, and now, before it even opens, the company is choosing to invest again in the facility and create new jobs for Hoosiers."

Within three years, the company says it will hire the new workers, including engineering staff and warehouse staff for the expanded plant.

Two years ago, Nestle broke ground on the $359 million Anderson plant to make and distribute Nesquik and Coffee-Mate. Full production is expected to begin at the plant this year.

More information on open positions at the plant can be found on Nestle's employment Web site.
