Pregnant Teen Shot, Teens Arrested In Neighborhood Fight

19-Year-Old Shot In Hand During Argument Between Teens

A neighborhood feud ended Monday evening with a pregnant teenager shot and several juveniles under arrest, police said.

Officers were called to the 2800 block of Draper Street just before 7 p.m., said Indianapolis police Sgt. Matthew Mount.

They found Ashley Johnson, 19 with a gunshot wound to her hand. Johnson -- who is pregnant -- was transported to Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

Officers also witnessed a fight going on between several teens near a home at 2833 Draper St., Mount said. The fight was broken up and five teenagers were arrested.

Mount said the original dispute started Sunday and escalated Monday evening when a group of female juveniles came to that address.

Mount said that during the fight, Terry Yeggar, 18, pulled a gun and fired it into the air. Destiny Willboughy, 19, then grabbed the gun and fired it down the street, striking Johnson in the hand, Mount said.

After that shot was fired, two teenage girls -- a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old -- began smashing the windows of a car in the driveway of the house, Mount said. The girls then went inside the home and began ransacking the house, until a man who lived in the home was able to push them outside.

The fight then continued until police arrived and took several people into custody.

Yeggar was arrested on suspicion of criminal recklessness, possession of marijuana and carrying a handgun without a license. Willboughy was arrested on suspicion of criminal recklessness, carrying a handgun without a license and battery.

The two girls who police said ransacked the home were both arrested on suspicion of residential entry and criminal recklessness.

Another female juvenile was also arrested on suspicion of criminal recklessness.
