Couple Given Habitat Home After Both Battling Cancer

WHITESTOWN, Ind. -- A Boone County couple who watched their medical bills pile up after they were both diagnosed with cancer will soon have a new place to call home.Alaine and Ed Cone needed help after they both battled cancer within a few years of each other, 6News' Jennifer Carmack reported.That's when Habitat For Humanity stepped in, offering to build the couple a new home in Whitestown.
"This home is not only built with lumber, it's built with a lot of love," Alaine Cone said. "It's a new life, a new beginning."The Cones have both been working alongside volunteers to build their new home. Construction is set to wrap up within the next few weeks.The couple said they're extremely thankful that the people at Habitat For Humanity stepped in when they did."I would like to give back what they have given to me and, to me, they gave me the sky," Alaine Cone said.The couple is expecting to move into their new home at the end of September.
