INDIANAPOLIS -- While the Colts have a few things to work on after Sunday's preseason loss, stadium officials said they'll be working out a few glitches at the team's new home.Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills marked the first professional football game played in the new Lucas Oil Stadium and the night wasn't without its issues, officials said. The flow of people inside the facility, as well as a few restroom issues, were the biggest concerns, 6News' Norman Cox reported.
"We had elevators and escalators where people just didn't know where to go and how to get to their seats," said Bob Grand, president of the Capitol Improvement Board, which has now taken over supervision of the stadium from the state-run Stadium Authority.Naming rights holder Forrest Lucas agreed that there was a definite problem with people getting around inside the stadium, but said he thinks the issues will be worked out once fans get used to the new facility."It's still a problem that might resolve itself, but certainly needs to be attended to … But there's a lot of things in here, you know, millions of things. And it's easy for just one little thing to be wrong," Lucas said.Grand said there were also several restroom problems Sunday night, including a women's room toilet that wouldn't flush and a men's room automated towel dispenser that was malfunctioning. He said work had already begun on those issues. As for the drains that failed during heavy rains last month, flooding several crucial areas of the then-unfinished stadium, officials said they appear to be fixed, but that they won't know for sure until there is another major rainstorm.
