INDIANAPOLIS -- Speedway police are investigating the death of a man found dead at the track.

William Cully Thomas, 47, of Mitchell, was discovered to be dead while he was still sitting upright in a lawn chair in lot 2 inside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, police said.

A cause of death had not been released Saturday night, but police said they did not suspect foul play. They said it was possible that alcohol played a role in Thomas’ death.
