INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis may get more use out of the Teflon-coated roof of the RCA Dome in a move that could keep the roof out of the scrap heap.Mayor Greg Ballard said Thursday that he is negotiating with contractors demolishing the dome to get roof material for the Department of Parks and Recreation. The roof material would be used to create large umbrellas and shelter canopies for parks, pools and other facilities, said Paula Freund of Indy Parks and Rec.The city hopes businesses and donations would cover the cost of parts and labor that would be needed to build the structures.
