BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- A Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy was seriously injured Friday night when she was struck at the scene of an accident.

Deputy Sara Jones was directing traffic on State Road 45 west of Bloomington shortly after 10:30 p.m. when she was struck by a jeep driven by Bree Myers, 16, of Bloomington, said Indiana State Police Sgt. Curt Durnil.

Jones suffered multiple injuries and was transported to Bloomington Hospital and then air lifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Durnil said. She was listed in critical condition Saturday evening.

Myers was transported to Bloomington Hospital but was not injured, Durnil said.
