INDIANAPOLIS -- An empty monorail car apparently overshot its stop outside Riley Hospital for Children and bumped into a walkway connecting two buildings Friday morning, breaking a section of the walkway's glass-like wall.
No injuries were reported in the crash, which happened around 10:30 a.m., RTV6's Jeremy Brilliant reported.
The monorail system, which is in a testing phase, connects Riley, IU and Methodist hospitals. It is scheduled to open in the spring.
A Clarian Health official said the crash probably was caused by a software problem.
The official said the damage was minor, and that the walkway (pictured, above left) will be fixed soon. The crash won't affect the system's spring debut, the official said.
