Delphi To Trim 150 More Jobs

Parts Maker Cites Economic Woes

POSTED: 10:12 am EST January 7, 2009

Another 150 jobs are being cut from Delphi's Kokomo operation, which manufactures components for General Motors.

Delphi cut 600 white collar jobs, most in Kokomo, in August 2008 because of a 25 percent decline in vehicle demand.

The latest round of layoffs take effect next Monday. The company will be left with 1,100 production employees and 2,200 salaried workers.

The Troy, Mich.-based company said cuts were considered carefully but were unavoidable in the current market climate.
