Investigators assigned to the disappearance of Indiana University student Jill Behrman delivered a 6,000-page report to prosecutors Friday detailing what they think happened to her.

After a six-hour meeting, Monroe County Prosecutor Carl Salzmann told reporters he wasn't sure when he'd make a decision on whether to file charges.

"It could be a week from now; it could be months from now," Salzmann said.

Jill Behrman (pictured, left) was 19 when she was last seen in May 2000. Investigators already have said they believe she was hit by a vehicle while she was riding her bike, and the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Investigators believe she was alive after the collision. They said they believe someone took her to Monroe County's Salt Creek, where they believe she was killed and her body dumped.

Authorities have said they found evidence in the case during searches of the creek, but her body hasn't been located.

According to sources and court documents, three suspects in the case are behind bars on charges not related to the case.

Salzmann said after Friday's meeting that he hasn't seen all documents related to the case, and he believes some aspects may need further investigation.

"(Friday is) certainly a milestone in that the evidence is now being turned over to our office," Salzmann said. "It's voluminous ... it's going to take a lot of resources to be diverted, and we're going to try to do that as much as we can as quickly as we can."

He said his office may ask local government officials for more money and more people so it could dedicate proper resources to the case.

Jill Behrman's father, Eric Behrman, said Thursday he hoped prosecutors could "come out of the meeting and make the determination that charges should be filed."

Behrman said more searches of Salt Creek may be ahead.

"There's a reason why we felt very comfortable with searching Salt Creek, and there's a very good possibility that may continue," he said.

Eric Behrman said he was thankful to everyone who was been involved in the investigation.

"You just can't say thanks enough to all of those people. But I know the thing I heard from so many of them was that they are parents and fathers, too," he said. "They know that in a situation like this, if there's any way they would be able to help, they want to help.

"They also want to see that those who are responsible for this are taken care of."
