Police Think Same Men Involved In 4 Robberies

Police are hoping to nab two men who they think were involved in several robberies at payday loan stores within the last week.

The latest robbery happened Monday, when one man went into the Cash Advance store in the 10000 block of Pendleton Pike and pointed a handgun at the clerk, 6News' Jack Rinehart reported.

Seconds later, a second man entered the store and then both men demanded money before leaving on foot.

About 45 minutes earlier, the same men went into a Payday Loan store in the 8200 block of East Washington Street.

One of the men asked for an employment application before announcing a holdup, police said.

"He comes in and says, 'We'll kill you if you don't get the money,'" and they go back and give them the money," said Indianapolis police Detective Bill Cincebox. "Everybody's complied and nobody's been hurt yet."

Police said the robbers have hit three Payday Loan stores in the last week, including one in the 400 block of East Sumner Avenue and another in the 6800 block of East 38th Street.

Detectives said the same small, silver revolver has been displayed in all four of the robberies.

Investigators said they think one of the men may have worked at one of the stores in the past.

"He's comfortable in this environment," Cincebox said. "He doesn't act nervous when he's conducting the robberies."

Police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
